There are certain competitors that have become nemeses to each other. There is Coke and Pepsi. There are Lakers and Celtics. There are many more and then there are Viagra and Cialis. However, there is one significant difference between these two and the rest of these examples. While the rest of these examples usually have some kind of balance and not too much difference between them, or at least no obvious winner, the things are different when these two PDE5 inhibitors are in question. Namely, there is a clear winner, although not too many people know about this.
This competition started in 2003 when Cialis came out as one of the two brand new Viagra competitors, the other on being Levitra that has for some reasons never taken off as well as Cialis did. All of a sudden, there was a choice for men who suffered from erectile dysfunction and who wanted to address this issue with efficient medications. However, in the five years that it has been the only ED medication on the market, Viagra gained a lot of ground and it has become synonymous with the expression ED drug.
However, over the years, people started to realize that Cialis offers much more and they are still coming to know this fact. For instance, Cialis is less likely to cause side effects than Viagra, especially the headaches which made people stop taking Viagra. In addition to this, Cialis starts acting more rapidly, working after only 20 minutes. Still, the absolutely biggest difference is in the duration of the beneficial effects.
While Viagra lasts on average between 4 and 6 hours, Cialis works for at least 24 hours. Some men have reported that it works for 36 hours, but on average, this time is somewhere around 24 hours in reality. Still, it is a huge improvement and a very important one. Namely, many people do not like the fact that they have to plan ahead when using Viagra and Cialis makes this a thing of the past.
In the end, Cialis is a clear winner and it is only a matter of time before even the biggest Viagra fans switch to this medication.
